Oldsmar is named for R.E. Olds, the Oldsmobile founder who platted the town in the early 1900s, and it now sits at the northeast corner of Pinellas County where the daily commute crosses the Courtney Campbell Causeway or the Bayside Bridge into Tampa. Bridge driving means direct sun and glare off open water on both sides for several minutes straight, and tint takes the edge off that in a way sun visors can't.
